Palais Longchamp

1/3
The Palais Longchamp is a must in Marseille: with its magnificent park, this historic monument built to bring water into the city is a real architectural feat.
On either side of the water tower, a covered colonnade serves two museums and opens, on the city side, on the waterfall and, on the park side, on a large garden. The place played a decisive role in the attribution of the title of European Capital of Culture, awarded to Marseille in 2013.
In the left wing of the building, you will find the Museum of Fine Arts, which retains to date paintings, drawings and sculptures from the seventeenth to the nineteenth century. It is currently considered the oldest museum in Marseille, due to its creation in 1802.
